November 2011 Update
Back in June 2011, Yellow Brick Road launched a campaign called the ‘The RBA Appeal’ to give people the opportunity to talk directly to the RBA and voice their concerns about rising interest rates. It has been six long months but finally the people’s voice has made it to the central bank’s ear.
You may be aware that Yellow Brick Road was the first lender in the country to guarantee that we’d pass on an interest rate cut in full to our customers and we believe it is the moral obligation of all lenders to drop their rates and pass the savings onto their mortgage holders.
The great thing about a rate cut is that it reduces consumer fear which will benefit many areas of the economy including retail, housing and small business. The decision will bring back the confidence that so many Australians had lost since the 2010 Melbourne Cup Day rate hike shock.
Melbourne Cup Day 2011 was a great day for Australians and now we are all winners.
